This post is part of a regular feature I have creatively titled, “Things that are awesome” Wednesday.
In this weekly post, I am going to share something that struck me as awesome during the past week. It may be a great recipe, a cool event, a favorite blog, a special moment or whatever else scores a 10 on the awesome-meter.
And if you have something awesome to share, I’d love to hear about it! Post to comments or e-mail me and let me know.

Most of us have that dream. That thing that “If I were going to die in six months”, we say we would totally do. It’s a happy place that we fantasize about when stuck in traffic or run down at work. For many people, it’s traveling the world. Or it may be selling everything and living at the beach. Or moving closer to family you love but don’t see very much. Or dedicating yourself to training. Or drinking wine and eating olives on the beach in Greece.
Whatever your big dream is chances are there are lots of logical and valid reasons not to pursue it right now. I mean, with any luck – and statistically speaking – we are probably not actually going to die in six months. There’s the job, the house, financial restraints and family. There’s the comfort of routine.
But what if you had all those good, real, solid reasons not to pursue this dream – but you did it anyhow. That would be awesome.
That’s basically what Matt and Cherie Chan are doing. The Chans are co-owners of CrossFit Verve, where I am lucky enought to work out. They are world-class CrossFitters; both have been to the CrossFit Games and Matt took second place in 2012. They are both incredibly kind as well. I think most people who meet them develop a little bit of a CrossFit crush on them.
Anyhow, they recently sold most of their possessions and moved in to a Airsteam trailer with their two dogs. Now they plan to travel, using their fitness to play as they explore the country. You can read their post about the decision HERE and then follow along as they blog (www.theeternalpursuit.com) and tweet (www.twitter.com/T3Pursuit) about their adventures. I pretty much guarantee that it’s going to be awesome.
OK. So who is going to run CrossFit Verve, while they are gone?
There are two other co-owners and a group of amazing coaches who are at the gym full-time.
